Some Gave Them Plum Cake
Some Gave Them Plum CakeThe last thing Buffy saw before she sank into oblivion was Faith being kicked in the back by a large vampiric foot. And the last thing she heard was the bloodcurdling scream coming from somewhere behind her.
~
With a painful groan, she woke up and took a look around the dungeon she was imprisoned in.
“So. You’re awake. About time.” The Master grinned, his fangs showing.
“You don’t know how long I’ve waited to have you here. All alone. Helpless. At my mercy. You killed me. And now I’m going to return the favor.”
“What!” He spat out when the blonde slayer on the ground started laughing.
She was rolling around on the ground, laughing and clutching her sides.
With a savage growl, the Master strode over and kicked her. “What is so funny!” he demanded.
When he didn’t receive an answer, he picked her up by the neck and threw her across the floor.
“No matter. Soon you’ll be dead, and the world will be mine.”
“I wouldn’t count on it.”
“And why not? You’re the only one who can stop me, and you’re locked up. All alone. Poor Buffy. So helpless.” He laughed. So did she.
“Take a closer look.” She jumped into the air and he grabbed her and threw her against the wall. He stared into her unblinking eyes for a full minute and cursed.
She laughed again.
“It doesn’t matter. She will come for you.”
“No she won’t”
“She has to!”
“She won’t. Don’t get your hopes up, Buffy’s the job. She’s the Slayer. The ORIGINAL Slayer. None of the rest of the girls would be here if it weren’t for her. Hell, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her. She’s not going to do something stupid and come here when she could be out there saving the world…again.”
Suddenly the Master’s head rolled between Faith’s feet before turning into dust.
“Unless I’m wrong?” Faith asked the air.
Grinning, Buffy pulled off her invisibility cloak.
“Wicked.”
“Thanks. I borrowed it from Harry.”
Faith tilted her head in question.
“Oh yah. He showed up right after you turned into me and conked out. He brought a bunch of his uber-bad Wizard friends, too.”
“So…the battle?”
“Over. It bites too. I woke up just as Willow finished every vamp in the vicinity off.”
“That does suck.”
“So. What happened.”
Buffy propped her scythe up against a cell wall and sat down on the floor.
“I’m going to wait a while until you turn back into you. It’s kinda creepy talking to myself.”
Faith grinned, which looked…odd…on Buffy’s face. The two waited for a few more moments until Faith turned back into Faith.
“Much better.” Buffy smiled and began her tale…
’,’,’,’,’,’,’,’,’,’,’,’,’,
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” Willow floated towards the Master as he craned Buffy’s neck.
“So,” he snarled, “you’re still alive witch?”
She grinned an evil grin and raised her arms. All the wizards that had just apparated stepped back in alarm. Wind was blowing rapidly and dirt was flying and Willow’s hair was turning black. She closed her eyes and tipped back her head. She took a deep breath and snapped them open.
Some witch fainted when she saw Willow’s eyes. They were pitch black.
She heard tons of gasps behind her.
“Yeah yeah, I’m using Dark Magic. Deal with it.”
The Master snarled. “You still can’t stop me. I’ve been dead before, when I came back, they made me close to immortal.”
“Still. Your army isn’t even close to being immortal.”
He growled and barked to his vampires. They surrounded him and he fled with Buffy in his arms.
Willow growled also. “That makes me angry.”
The vampires came at her. She smirked and held up her hand.
The bounced off her invisible force field and howled with anger.
“I’ve got this covered.” She smirked again and laughed a deep throaty laugh. The vampires growled in anger and charged at her again.
Several wizards held up their wands and Willow rolled her eyes.
“Oh lay off!”
“We’re dealing with this my way.” She cracked her neck and floated after the Master.
“Dum diddly dum diddly dum diddly dum…here kitty kitty kitty” Willow whistled as she walked around the building.
She swirled around and around. This building looked familiar…but not.
Willow ran her hands over the walls and closed her eyes.
She smirked.
She scoffed, “Loser.”
She raised her arms again.
She floated in the air and the walls disintegrated within minutes.
“Damn illusions.” She scoffed again.
“Shatter.”
The vampire behind her screamed as it was ripped apart in 14 different places.
She grinned.
“Stake.”
The pointed limb of a nearby tree trunk spun around and rocketed into Willow’s hand.
She shoved it into the four nearest vampires until she suddenly got a very bright idea.
She raised her arms into the air and closed her eyes.
She floated up into the sky higher and higher until not even the vampires could see her again.
The witches and wizards turned around and murmured amongst each other.
They gasped when the blood curdling scream came from the sky.
They grabbed their ears and fell to the ground.
The ones that hadn’t shielded their eyes.
Willow came shooting down from the sky. And when she hit the ground, the sun came up.
The witches gasped.
The witch, the wicca, the one that used black magic, had leapt into the sky…and she had brought the sun
The vampires screamed. They screamed as they were ripped apart and set on fire.
And when they were gone, Willow stood up and dusted herself off.
She ran her fingers through her red hair.
“Well. That was that.”
“That was bloody amazing!”
Harry strode over.
“I concur.”
Buffy groaned from the ground.
Willow ran to her.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah. Where’s the Master?”
Willow growled.
“He took Faith.”
Buffy looked at Willow. She looked at her eyes. They were tired. They were asking Buffy not to tell her to come.
Buffy grinned. She picked up her scythe.
“It’s all right Will. I got this.”
“Wait a minute.”
Buffy rolled her eyes.
“Honestly Harry, I don’t need a lecture.”
He rolled his eyes right back at her.
“I wasn’t going to give you one. Here.”
He held out his cloak.
“Put it on.”
Curious, she did.
He grinned and Willow’s eyes bugged out.
“You’re invisible!”
Buffy grinned. “Very cool.”
